Some appliances, however, are not covered by the scheme;

·         Air to air heat pumps

·         Log stoves

·         Pellet stoves without back boilers

·         Hybrid PVT

Applying for the RHI Scheme?

When applying for the Renewable Heat Incentive Scotland, there are a few things you should know, including;

Who Can Apply?

To apply for the renewable heat incentive Scotland, you must;

·         Be an owner-occupier, self-builder, private landlord or a registered provider of Social Housing

·         Have one of the eligible appliances installed into your property for no longer than 1 year before applying

·         Single domestic dwellings

·         NOT available for new build properties (apart from self-build projects)

What You Need to Apply

When applying for the Renewable Heat Incentive Scotland you will need certain documents to back up your eligibility, including;

·         MCS installation certificate number for the heating system

·         Energy Performance Certificate (EPC Number)

·         Bank details

How Much Could You Earn?

When accepted for the Renewable Heat Incentive Scotland you will be paid quarterly every year for 7 years. Different factors will affect the amount that you will receive through the scheme. It will vary depending on the type of technology you have installed, the latest tariffs available and sometimes, meriting comes into play.
